Deck Beam & Post Replacement with LVL
Replacement beams and posts for an existing deck: LVL beams on 6×6 posts with Simpson post caps and bases on precast concrete deck blocks, to the Kentucky building code.
Scope of work
- (2) 1¾″ × 7¼″ LVL beam with staggered nailing and beam connection detail
- 6×6 posts with Simpson CC66 caps and IPC6Z bases on precast concrete deck blocks
- Foundation plan and installation details
- Design criteria: 2015 IBC / 2018 Kentucky Building Code, ASCE 7-10, 115 mph wind, 15 psf ground snow
